Rimblades (Bond-On Wheel Rim Protectors) have announced the next phase in its growth plans by revealing a new industry-leading manufacturing partnership.
The deal was completed in order to meet recent increased market demands, and also to support the Company’s ongoing product development commitments. To mark this move, Rimblades will be refreshing its range, and diversifying into the car care space.
Darren Bowden, founder of Rimblades said, “We are incredibly excited to move our entire range to one of the automotive sectors leading parts manufacturers, although customers can be reassured that the new partner is a proven supplier, having already helped develop and manufacture our Rimblades Ultra product back in 2019.
Now we go ‘all in’. This means a tighter working relationship, more commitment to volume to meet demand, and the technical capability to push all Rimblade products to the next level.
To mark the step up in quality and capacity, we are revitalising the range, including the revival of Rimblades Original - although even that product has been improved!”
The updated product range
Rimsavers: Rimsavers now benefit from several key design enhancements, including a slight increase in thickness and strength and the addition of a micro wire core to prevent any expansion or retraction of the material. Colour matched joint covers will also be available in all 12 colour options. The improved Rimsavers will be available towards the end of January 2022.
Rimblades Ultra: For 2022, Rimblades Ultra benefits from a new grade of its ExxonMobil Santoprene compound, which is a substantial 30% harder to offer enhanced protection and performance. This is the same strength of compound previously only available on the now discontinued Scuffs Ultra ‘Blade.
Rimblades Light: Formerly constructed from a PVC / Nitrile Rubber mix, Rimblades Light is also moving up to the higher quality Santoprene TPV material. Found elsewhere in the range, Santoprene is a high-performance elastomer manufactured by Exxon Mobil which is probably best described as a plastic material that actually looks and feels like rubber.
This means reduced weight, increased durability, and most importantly for our products – superior, consistent performance. Like Rimblades Ultra, a harder grade has been specified to boost protection along with the same wire core technology found in Rimblades Ultra and Rimsavers.
Rimblades Original: Back by popular demand in 2022, Rimblades are re-releasing its original Rimblades design. Featuring the brand’s famous offset crescent moon shaped profile, Rimblades Original remains true to its universal fit design but has been optimised for rounded and round lipped wheel edges.
ALL NEW Car Care Range
Rimblades have also announced it will be extending its range to incorporate a new line of high quality car cleaning products, which will be available exclusively through its online shop.
Darren Bowden explains more, “Because protection and style sits at the very core of the Rimblades brand, we decided that we’d help our customers keep their whole car looking as sharp as their wheels.
With this in mind, we have been working incredibly hard behind the scenes on an exciting new range of cleaning and detailing products. These have been very carefully researched, developed and tested to meet the same high performing standards of our ‘blades, and are more than worthy of the Rimblades name!”
The 2022 car care launch range includes:
- Waterless car wash
- Wheel & tyre cleaner
- Ceramic shampoo
- Ceramic detailer/polish
